About Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid (HA) plays an important part in restoring the loss of volume, moisturizing the skin and returning its elasticity and tone. Rather then the old fashion collagen injections HB Health of Knightsbridge uses only natural fillers from the highest grad as such as Teosyal, Juvederm and Restylane etc. which are non-animal based, synthetic hyaloronic acid gel, which is injected to create more volume this torefresh your look and to give you much healthier look. About The Dermal filler treatment?
Before undergoing the treatment to ensure the patient understands possible effects consent form will be explained and then signed by the clients. The initial treatment can often occur during the first visit when the filler recommended fits the requirement.
Dermal filler treatment often requires anesthetic cream applied around twenty minutes prior to having the treatment. The function of the cream is to help numb the area to be treated in order to reduce the pain encountered when the injection is performed. some of the HA Dermal filler products as Restylane, Teosyal and Juvederm are now formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic used to improve the comfort of treatment. Depending on the type of filler and the area undergoing treatment, different techniques of injection will be used. In the treatment of filling out wrinkles, there are two main injection techniques that can be used namely the linear threading technique and the serial puncture technique. In the linear technique, the full length of the needle is inserted midway into the wrinkle and the material injected while pulling the needle backwards, slowly, this sometime can be done with a long cannula for very deep injection and for less bruising (it is not painful) . The serial puncture technique involves several injections alongside the wrinkle to lift it. The treatment will take approx. 30min.
What are the Dermal fillers possible side effects?
HA Dermal fillers side effects are usually minor and rarely any extra attention is needed.
- Redness and swelling on the treated side
- Irregularities around the treated site, such as lumps and bumps
- Slight visibility of the injected filler - too superficially injected
- Possible infection and allergic reaction (only in the case of collagen injection)
- Immediate disappearance of the filler injected - might only last about 3 months or less.
- Bruising which may last up to a week
- Lumps - sometime lumps can be noticeable, (usually due to a superficial injection) this can be removed (remove filler) with the help of special enzyme injection which will to break down the filler and remove it.
What is the recovering time and when I can see the final results?
The recovery time is around 30 minutes. In most cases the healing process takes few hours only and depends on the filler type, the injected area and quantity we injected. Most people will have no problem reporting back to work immediately after treatment, implying that under normal circumstances the treatment is really fast. Notably, if all instructions for using particular dermal filler are followed strictly and prior measures are taken to ensure that the right filler is selected for use the process will always be comfortable with the confidence of recovering quickly, almost instantaneously. The HA tend to absorb 30% water in the injected area which may causes slight puffiness or mild swollenness, this is natural part of the process and will disappear after short time leaving the patient with fuller enhanced location. In some cases the treatment should be done gradually meaning that the patient should come back after several days (approx. 10 days) to proceed secondary treatment (this usually referred when larger quantity of filler material is needed).
How long it last and duration?
The Results obtained with dermal fillers typically last 6 to 9 months. The results may last up to a year in some people. How long results last depending on the injected area, the depth injected and it is vary from person to person, Dermal fillers are gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so the lines, wrinkles or lips will ultimately return to their previous appearance without follow up treatments.
Sometimes a follow - up appointment required 2 weeks after the original procedure, unlike as with Botox and wrinkle softening top - ups, not like with Botox injections (wrinkles injections) fillers top - ups are usually an extra cost.
